Upheaval Canyon is the drainage between Bighorn Mesa and Buck Mesa in the northwest corner of the Island in the Sky District at Canyonlands National Park. This panorama was taken near the upper end of the canyon not far from the Syncline backcountry campsite. The location is roughly 4350 feet above sea level. The surrounding mesa tops are about 1000 feet higher. Just for grins, click here for another shot taken 50 feet away about 15 minutes later. Or click here for more panoramas from Canyonlands Park.
