Syncline Camp is midway along the Syncline Loop Trail in Canyonlands National Park. A backcountry permit is required for camping here. There is only one site and it's just out of view in this picture, about 100 steps away. It's a bare spot where you put your tent; campfires are not allowed and there are no facilities of any kind. When I was there, a nice big log was available to sit on. At certain times of year there's a puddle of water not far from the site but hikers shouldn't count on it in mid summer. The wash below the site leads down Upheaval Canyon to the Green River, about four miles away.
