Bighorn Drainage

From a favorite rest stop along Bighorn Trail, this is the Bighorn Creek drainage. The mountain pine beetle epidemic has killed many pine trees in the area. At first the dead trees turn rust brown. Later they turn gray like the ones at the bottom of the photo. Eventually they fall and extra trail maintenance is necessary as a result.
