Near the eastern boundary of the Vail Ski Area, a platter lift pulls you to about 11,600 feet, the highest of the lift served terrain on the mountain. From there it's a climb of 150 feet or so to here on Benchmark Ridge, a popular route for backcountry skiers who descend to East Vail. The view includes the Gore Range, Tenmile Range, Sawatch Range, Copper Mountain and Beaver Creek. More Vail Panoramas
