| Shelf Lake Trailhead is 3.4 miles up Geneva Creek Road from where it turns off of Guanella Pass Road. Geneva Creek Road is fairly level but pretty rough in places so recommended for high clearance vehicles only. The trail to the lake is about two miles long with an altitude gain of about 1900 feet.
